  1. The game of golf gave Seve a lot, but he also gave a lot back to the game of golf, so it seems a travesty that golf and life in general kicked him in the face so hard, so often during the last 15 years of his life. There were good times of course – captaining a winning Ryder Cup side in Spain (though without crippling injuries, he should have played) being one of them. But while Langer, Lyle, Couples et al get to enjoy successful Senior careers, Seve has to endure injury and then cancer. 🙁

  2. No, he’d been back on tour for a year by this point, but hadn’t played well enough in ’95 to qualify or get a wild card.

  3. Did Azinger have his cancer at this time? is that why he’s on commentary and not playing?

  4. If you want a player on your golf team it has to be Seve Ballesteros. Even though his game was lost, he fought till the very end.

The rest of the team that year were inspired by his gutsy performance and ended up winning the Ryder Cup.
